growAbility Native Nursery
In late 2019 the Christie Centre purchased the growAbility Native Nursery (previously the Mildura Native Nursery) continuing an environmentally sustainable business to offer climate hardened and appropriate drought resistant plants for the Mildura and wider Sunraysia area.
The nursery is operated by a highly skilled and qualified team with many years of training and knowledge. The nursery has a history of providing quality plants for large scale plantings as well as local home owners.
The opening times are:
Monday – closed
Tuesday to Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pm
Saturday – 9:00am to 12noon
Sunday – closed
growAbility skill development is a program in partnership with SuniTAFE that enables people of all abilities to be active in the horticulture field while learning new skills and preparing for employment. Participants learn how to propagate native plants, succulents, vegetables, herbs and hedge plants, and then sell their plants and produce. Some also complete a modified Certificate I and II in Horticulture.
Plants are currently available for purchase from Aroundagain in Scherger Drive Mildura.
The participants have opportunities to expand their skill base alongside the Native Nursery team from 2020.
